MediaTek announced that its quick charging technology will see and update and the company will launch the new tech under the name Pump Express 3.0 which is said to compete directly with Qualcomm’s Quick Charge 2.0 directly. As it seems people are demanding for quick and portable charging schemes, the portable charging demand was somehow taken down by portable power banks whilst the quick and easy charge thing is still coming up with new and interesting developments.
The new technology Pump Express 3.0 as said from MediaTek will help you charge your phone from 0 to 70 % in 20 minutes which is much higher from the Quick Charge 2.0 that takes the LG N5 from 0 to 80% in 35 minutes. MediaTek has been a little skeptical about the battery capacity that can be charged in this span of time as there were no announcements about any minimum or maximum battery size whatsoever.
The technology in Pump Express 3.0 will be USB-C enabled which is of course first in class, this will help charging the phone much quickly and prevent overheating by bypassing the current directly to the battery from the adapter. The company has announced that the quick charging alongside its Helio chipset will be launched by the end of this year itself.
The technology will see the likes of phones from Sony, Lenovo, Meizu etc. that work on MediaTek’s own chipset “Helio”. The news should be delightful for Asians as companies in Asia use the “Helio” chipset more than any other place.
