What happened in the past?

In the year 2015, Samsoud Media did a small experiment and that called the VR cinema. This was done using the pop-up theaters all in Europe. But the company announced last week that they are rolling on the VR cinema and they are launching it permanently in Amsterdam.

Whats in the Future?

It seems as if more and more VR cinemas are going to open in other cities like London, Berlin, Paris and Madrid by the end of this year.

Whats New?

The VR cinema is totally different from the traditional movie theater. This cinema doesn’t have any screen with the seats facing towards it. Instead the movie watchers are going to have swivel chairs and they are provided with Samsung VR Gear along with the Sennheiser HD 201 Headphones. Viewers are free to turn anywhere freely as the chair allows it. As of now, after getting the ticket of €12.50 no one knows what they are going to see but it’s a video clip of around 35 minutes.

Gears that Supports Virtual Reality

It seems virtual reality is the trend this year and everywhere we will see the same thing. The major VR systems like Oculus Rift and HTC vive have been launched and those are giving the customers a taste of Virtual reality. Though it is found that Samsung’s VR gear is the most interesting thing and the quality of it seems to be good at less than half the price of Oculus Rift.

Will it work?

We can’t say now that these VR cinemas will be there permanently but one this is clear that VR is going to capture the future.
